I thought I could get the quilting on Mario and Luigi finished today but unless I work into the evening that isn’t going to happen. I’m not really behind at all because I planned the entire weekend for quilting them. However, once I get more than halfway finished my mind wanders and I think, “Okay, once this is done I’m going to ….” And that blank keeps changing.
I took a quilting break this morning and went out to do some birthday shopping. I knew what I wanted before I left home and that was a big help. However, by the time I did some price comparisons and went back and forth between stores it was the afternoon before I got home.
It was mid-afternoon and I was back at my sewing when I heard sirens that sounded like they stopped nearby. When I looked out the window across the hall the fire truck was pulling up beside the house, there were RCMP officers running down the street, and there was an ambulance parked on Omineca. My first thought was that there was another drug raid happening down the hill, but they were focusing their attention on our neighbour Bud’s house. I think they were looking for a way into the house and, a few minutes later, the police were coming through his back door and letting the rest of the crew in. They took Bud to the hospital in the ambulance but the sirens weren’t on so I’m hoping that is a good sign. He had heart surgery earlier in the year so we are speculating that perhaps his trouble is associated with that.
I’m enjoying this pixelated quilting, and I’m tempted to try a pattern of my own making. I have something in mind, and I found a brief tutorial online so I’ll see how that goes and keep you posted. Making too many of the same thing is a bit boring so I want to change it up a little. My idea may be “changing it up” a bit too much and will be beyond me, but I’ll give it a try.
I think tonight I’ll be able to finish crocheting the afghan I’m making for my Tickle Trunk. I’m doing scalloped edging on it and it is an easy pattern to follow. The current Netflix series we are watching is the Swedish version of Wallander though so I have to pay attention to the sub-titles and it is a little slower going than usual.
