I managed to get my shopping and cleaning done this morning with time to spare before our guests arrived. After lunch I set out cups, glasses and a few other odds and ends that we need for the evening before heading up to my studio for some fun.

I now have Luigi completely pieced and I’m anxious to get the pair quilted to see how they turn out. I think I’ll make three more sets – one each for the other sets of grandchildren and one set for my Tickle Trunk. I have some interesting backing to use so the pieces will be very modern on the front but quite old fashioned on the back (photos later).

I’ve been sitting in the living room enjoying the afternoon sun while our performers get set up and they and Pat trade stories and “toys” – they are impressed with Pat’s collection.

It’s time now though to help out with dinner and get a few more things set up for tonight (fill the coffee urn, set out the tea caddy, hide the compost pail, etc.). Pat has just asked me to go pick up some wine for dinner – I’m going to get right on that!
