It must be spring

Before reporting for BOND duty today I  stopped at the Post Office and got my parcels sent off. When I was returning to the car I realized I had written a card and letter yesterday and that it hadn’t made it to the post office with me. I had time to come back home and when I couldn’t find it in my usual “for the mail” spots I feared I had wrapped it up in one of the parcels. I took a look in my studio and found it under a pile of wrapping paper I had been using.

I made potato salad and 5-bean salad for lunch today. I was going to get creative and add some sweet potatoes into it but I could only find yams and I wasn’t sure they we’re interchangeable. Surprisingly the bean salad was more popular than the potato salad. I don’t think there was anything wrong with the potato salad though.

I wasn’t sure what I should serve with the salads. We always have a fruit and a veggie tray but it seemed like we needed one more thing. Connie said she wouldn’t eat the bean salad because she doesn’t eat beans – except she likes hummus and was surprised it was made with chick peas. I suggested hummus and pita bread would probably be suitable and they agreed.

Then we thought since the sun was shining and we were already making salad we’d make it like an indoor beach day and serve potato chips. We are supposed to be making nutritional lunches but Connie had it all figured out how to get around that. She would explain to the ladies that it is hard to eat healthy all the time, that we all have cravings, and it is okay to indulge occasionally. Good thing Marcie check on the guest speaker. We were having a nutritionist in for the talk so we quickly put hummus and pita bread back on the menu.

I stopped at Wal-Mart on my way home – yes, I overcame my “getting home” issue for today at least. After all that waiting they had only one of the items I wanted for making my laundry soap. I guess Canadian Tire will be a stop for another day.

When I pulled into the Wal-Mart parking lot I noticed that they have their Garden Center open. Snow shovels were on clearance for $2 if any of you who still have winter are needing one!
