Drowning in paper

Friday, March 22, 2013

I was looking forward to having three days at home to get back into my stitching. Yesterday I was working on Pat’s accounting and I spent the morning getting the work finished and sent to the accountant. It was close to noon before that was done.

I have neglected the paperwork on my desk for too long and decided I’d feel much better if it was finished. I pulled the documents I’ll need for our Income Tax Returns. Income tax time is when I clean out my filing cabinet – shred the envelope from seven years ago and start a new file for this reporting year. Although I haven’t finished shredding the papers, my files are much neater (and thinner). I made a start on my show report for the Guild. My Guild blog has been encouraging members to get their reports written before they forget the details so I’d best follow my own advice. Further down in my pile were some things I hadn’t written project sheets for so I did that and then updated my website. I finished up the afternoon by cleaning out my e-mail files.

I’ll get back to my stitching tomorrow. I’ll be entirely guilt-free with all that paper weight off my shoulders.
