Happy St. Patrick’s Day

It was a nice party last night, but I have a confession to make. We were invited to the party by folks who are regulars at our house concerts. I assumed Pat knew who these people were, as in he would recognize them on the street, but when I asked him to remind me of what they looked like he didn’t know. We thought they were Geoff and Brenda’s friends, but after Pat came home from a jam with Geoff yesterday afternoon he reported that Geoff didn’t know them. How fortunate that as soon as they answered the door we instantly recognized them – and they are very nice people.

The crowd at the party were all yacht club members, but there were a few people we recognized from other activities we’ve been involved in. There was another couple who are regulars at our concerts (and we know their names), there was a woman who attended the Yarn Swap, and someone else that Pat knew from some of the writing classes he has taken. Our hostess introduced as by explaining that we hold concerts so everyone wanted to know about them. Pat even sold a few tickets to the next show. Everyone was very friendly and I think Pat will volunteer to “crew” for the upcoming race season!

It is a beautiful clear day so Pat probably had a nice flight to Vancouver – he’s off for a few days of teaching. I worked on some cards, even though that room across the hall is crying out to me! The cards are paper pieced so there was a lot of prep work involved. When I took a break for lunch I realized there wasn’t much lunch available so I went out and got a few groceries. I’ve spent the the afternoon stitching a couple of the cards.

I can probably finish up one knitting project tonight (mitts for Kathryn) and then I need to make a larger pair of slippers for Taylor. The first pair were oh-so-cute but they were too small.
