No wonder I’m tired

Tuesday, March 12, 2013

I spent all morning doing the final “getting ready” for our guests and the house concert tonight. The performers arrived on the noon ferry and after a brief visit they left to explore the town for the afternoon. Since I had the afternoon free I came up to my messy studio to see what I could do to make it habitable again. Although I didn’t get a lot done, I decided that the first step was to tidy up – the rearranging can come later. And in tidying up the first bags I came upon were my purchases from Victoria and the quilt show so I thought I’d share them with you.

Stacia took me to a “new to me” button shop in Victoria. They have so much more than buttons in their shop and, although I didn’t buy a single button, but I came home with a bag of goodies!

I’ve looked and looked for a pattern for “my” black and white quilt. Almost by accident we came upon one at the Bib and Tucker quilt shop. Although this doesn’t look like much from the pattern, wait until you see the surprises in it!

As soon as I saw this fabric I knew I wanted it for another One Block Wonder quilt.

Patterns
These will keep me busy

I wouldn’t have purchased some of these patterns had I not seen them made up in much different fabrics than shown on the patterns.

The vendor had this baby quilt pattern made up in shades of pink or blue. Since I don’t know if the baby I’m making it for will be a girl or a boy I picked out some fun kid-friendly fabrics.

I have two more classes coming up before the end of the Guild year so I purchased my fabric while the sale was on.

And, last but not least, I purchased a couple of presents but I can’t show them to you in case you are the intended recipient!

I’m tired all over again just thinking about the work in store for me.
