Anna Karenina

The movie uses only the parts of the book that involve Anna, and leaves out a lot of the other characters and story lines. The movie is done in a very theatrical style that I very much liked. The characters I had in my head, except for Anna, didn’t fit the actors who played the parts. Many of the women seemed more English than Russian. Count Vronsky, Anna’s lover, seemed much too young, unworldly, and rather simpering.
