Are we under surveillance?

I don’t think it is because of the Family Day holiday, but it has felt like Sunday today. Yesterday was the first time a House Concert fell on a Sunday and we’re used to Sunday being a recovery day, not Monday. And we did need to recover. We’re both pretty tired. I contemplated having a nap this afternoon but I resisted the urge and managed to get a bit of work done (besides the final clean up and three loads of dishwashing).

Tomorrow is the sewing bee and I needed something to work on. Ruby doesn’t travel, and Pearl isn’t up to free-motion quilting (I’m not sure I am either). I have two Community Quilts that I volunteered to do the binding for, and they need to be done for the Quilt Show. I got both bindings cut and I will stitch them together tomorrow. I may also have enough time to start hand stitching the bindings to the back of the quilts. I finished another colour of thread on my appliqued flowers – just three more colours left.

In the middle of my quilting Pat called and told me to come look – really quickly. I zipped downstairs and, through the telescope, we watched a submarine go by. We probably wouldn’t have known it was a sub if our friend Geoff hadn’t called to tell us while they were walking the sea wall someone told them one was sailing past Harwood Island. He and Brenda weren’t able to see it from where they were because it had already dived, but he thought maybe we could through the telescope. We were able to see just the tip of the sub and one of the periscopes poking out of the water. We kept expecting it to disappear but it motored passed Harwood and appeared to be on its way to Savary.

Oh the things that we see!
