Pat and I have been watching NetFlix, and MI-5 in particular, until far too late at night (and into the morning). As a result I’m not getting up very early and less seems to get done in a day. After sewing so much for so many days running it was kind of nice to have some time away today.
And by away I mean I cleaned up my e-mail, paid a few bills and sorted out my HST report before heading to my Red Cross shift. I still had a trunk load of equipment from our trip to Comox last week and it took a bit of shuffling to get it all into the office in just one load. It wasn’t busy, but I had company most of the day so I didn’t get the computer unpacked until after I shut the door at two.
There are going to be problems and costs associated with this volunteer project. The hospital won’t let a computer on their network unless it was purchased from them. Even if the Red Cross decide to take this machine back and buy one from Coastal Health it will be a $500 bill to put in a network drop. The other option is to use our own ADSL line but I’m sure that won’t be cheap either. Fortunately none of this has to be my decision so I’ll pass the information along and see what happens.
Pat and I are going out for dinner at Eagle’s Landing tonight. Pat has been a regular at their monthly Open Mics, but I’ve only gone along once. The owners have invited the regular performers and their partners/spouses to the restaurant for a complimentary meal. The musicians will bring along their instruments but all I have to do is eat and enjoy the music!
