My parcels are wrapped (one for a gift exchange and one for a door prize) and my pot luck dish is in the fridge (Burnt Grapes). I had some time before I needed to get changed and I thought I’d do some tidying in my studio. I chatted with Diane (for over an hour) yesterday and she kept telling me I needed to get this mess cleaned up.
So Diane, my progress for a couple of hours work this afternoon is that my sewing table is clear and so is my desktop. And even better news is that when I wrapped my presents and looked after some of my paperwork I didn’t make a mess anywhere else!
It was a quiet shift at the Red Cross today – only one client coming in to pick up equipment. I had time to go through a new (sort of) Hello! magazine before shutting the doors. It is always a good day when there are fresh magazines.
I stopped to see Margaret on my way out. I had hoped to find her dressed and taking part in some of the activities. She was in the main reception area, but she wasn’t dressed and she is still wearing her hospital bracelet. She said after breakfast she went back to bed and slept until noon. She is having second thoughts about going on the Christmas lights tour tonight because she thought it might be too long. She played Bingo yesterday with the group but she doesn’t really like Bingo so she didn’t enjoy it much. There were some folks playing cards this afternoon and I know she is a card player so perhaps she’ll get into a game. She was still talking about going to Edmonton, although she said the doctor told her it would be a difficult move for her. Maybe she is still adjusting to being in the ECU as opposed to Olive Devaud. Or maybe she feels like the first day of school when you worry you won’t have any friends to eat lunch with.
I have to pick up a couple of quilters and drive them to the Guild party (I don’t think they like driving after dark). I have the car tonight so it is no problem for me to give them a ride.
