I should have my head examined

I got a couple of parcels shipped off in the mail today. I started right after breakfast and was all ready to wrap when I realized I had a couple more things that needed to be done for the parcels. They weren’t “extras”, they were things I knew I needed to include but I just hadn’t gathered them together yet.

All was going well – in fact better than I had planned. One of the gifts fit into a much smaller package than I thought it would. Now remember – good things come in small packages! I’m happily wrapping when I realized I had forgotten another thing that needed to go in. So if you are the recipient of a package that looks like a mouse got into it (but taped it up again) that was me.

I took my Guild membership cards to Staples this afternoon to get them laminated. Last year, I took them in on about six sheets of paper, got them laminated and brought them home and cut them. Today when I went to the counter the woman told me I needed to cut them all out first. They let me use their paper cutter and when that was finished I went back to the counter with my little paper cards.

This time the clerk who was helping me asked if I wanted them in business card folders or on sheets that I could cut apart. The business card option was $1 per card and the sheet option was $2 a sheet (but I can get about a dozen cards on a sheet). So when I pick them up tomorrow I’ll have to bring them home and cut them all apart again. I hate it when the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing.

I spent more time this afternoon wrapping parcels. I have quite a stack ready to send, and another pile waiting for little bits and bobs to be included. I let my mind wander a bit as I wrapped and listened to my Christmas music. I’ve now come up with another great idea (and a pattern) that I want to do before these last parcels are finished. The good news is I only need six of them. How is that good news? Because you know if I needed twelve (or more) I’d be making twelve (or more)!

Enough wrapping for now – I’m going to tackle some binding.
