The pile grows

Pat was teaching today so we were up before the crack of dawn. When Pat headed downstairs to his computer, I headed upstairs to my studio. I got a lot of sewing done in a couple of hours – enough that I’m totally convinced my Christmas plans are do-able. And just to emphasize how certain I am I added a dozen more things to my list!

Today was project day at the bee. Although I didn’t see the patterns ahead of time, I knew the choices were The Grinch, Santa or a Tree. I picked the tree thinking it would be the easiest of the lot. When I saw the samples I was quite certain I had made the right choice. I was speeding along and had the tree appliqued onto my backing in no time at all. Then the hard part started – we need to decorate this tree. I got as far as adding a few bells, a star button at the top, and a bit of garland before it was time to stop for lunch. Pat had an appointment early this afternoon so I left the bee right after lunch.

I spent another couple of hours on my Christmas project and then I headed up the street to my neighbour’s, who just happens to have a small fabric shop in her home. I picked up some more fabric for my Christmas projects, some binding fabric for my tree skirt, some backing for my Disappearing 9-patch and a few tiny little Christmas lights to decorate today’s tree project. Along with one wall hanging for the senior’s home that is ready to be quilted, I also have two more that need to be sashed, sandwiched and quilted.

So much to do in so little time!
