This morning (early) I finished getting another project ready for my trip. I pretty much know what I need to pack in the box I will send ahead of me, but I won’t send it until next week. There will still be things I need to take along, but they can go in my suitcase with me.
Now that I’ve decided on my project for our quilting week I thought it was time to look at the pattern and see what needed to be done as prep work. I sorted the ties into piles by colour – brown, navy, grey and red tones and then a pile of oddballs. Next I started ripping them apart. It takes about ten minutes per tie, and I have about 50 of them to do. Luckily it is mindless work.
It was a quiet day in the Red Cross. I heard from Margaret about halfway into my shift. She was released from the hospital today. I don’t think she felt she was ready to go yet, but I guess that doesn’t have much to do with the decision. I talked to her tonight and she sounds very tired. I’ll have to keep in close touch with her over the next while. I know she needs to do more walking to get back on her feet and she can’t do that in her place. I don’t want her to get too tired, but I know if I suggest going to the mall to do some walking she’ll just want to do her errands and then go for coffee.
When I got home from my shift the house was quiet and Pat was napping. I didn’t want to make any noise so I thought I would start my next pair of socks. When I knit the first pair it bugged me that one of the balls of wool wasn’t feeding from the center. I thought I would get that sorted out before starting this pair. Three hours later I was still unravelling knots and winding that half ball of wool!
Pat is out tonight so I’m going to watch a pre-taped movie, finish sorting out that wool and maybe rip apart a few more ties.
