Never stop watching

Many times over the past few days I have seen something large and black on the water that I thought must surely be a seal. After getting out the binoculars and having a closer look it was a loon I was seeing. How big does a loon have to be for me to see it from my chair in the living room? Pretty darned big I’d say. Pat was fooled this morning by the very same thing.

As we were eating lunch though Pat spotted something else on the water. He checked it out with the binoculars and was rewarded with a sighting of orcas just off the ferry terminal. We disagree somewhat on the number in the pod but who cares how many there were – there were orcas just off the end of the ferry terminal!

Later this afternoon as I was heading up to my studio after a visit with Margaret, Pat told me to hurry and look out the window. What was happening now? We watched an ultra-light aircraft flying over the strait. I think it was headed to Texada but I haven’t a clue where it came from.

Never a dull day when you live by the water!
