I was slow to get started this morning and I had a few chores to do before I could start playing. One chore led to another and it was almost lunch before I made it up to my studio. I’m working on a project I want to take with me on my travels, and I will have no trouble getting it finished in time.
I started thinking about all the other projects I need to get done before I leave. I still need to make my hand quilting sandwich, and I keep trying to come up with a “real” project I can be practicing on. Maybe another door hanger for the senior’s care home. I have one more “secret” project to get finished – it is all cut out so should go together quickly. I want to take my appliqué blocks with me so I need to get some bias tape made and four more blocks placed. And it is always fun to start a new project when I’m sewing with Stacia and Deloise so I’ll have to decide what that is going to be.
We went out for groceries late this afternoon. We purposely went late so we could get in on their Happy Hour. We were in the line-up for the cashier before we realized we hadn’t found out what the deal was. Usually it is something from the deli or the bakery that is on for a great price, but today it was a container of spinach on for half price! Not very exciting and since we already had some in the fridge we didn’t bother with more.
I’m working on another knitting project tonight – I got the wool for a scarf this Spring when Stacia and Deloise visited. It is meant to go with the shawl I bought in Lund. I thought it would be nice to have it done for my trip, but it suddenly dawned on me that a shawl and a scarf wouldn’t be warm enough for November in Saskatchewan!
Our wonderful weather continues and it looks like it will be a perfect Thanksgiving Sunday.
