Hell’s Kitchen

It was my turn for BOND today; pasta salad was on the menu. Courtney, one of the coordinators, had given me her recipe to use. I had to hurry a bit to get the pasta cooked and cooled, and there was a lot of chopping involved. It wasn’t until I was putting the salad together that I realized how much pressure I was under. What if it wasn’t as good as Courtney’s? What if Courtney saw it and said “That’s not the way I do it”? As it turned out she was no Gordon Ramsey and the salad was quite delicious.

Not many ladies out today and everyone went home with a container of salad, fruit and veggies. The folks who did come were late arriving. It was 12:45 and no one had come through the door yet. We were all feeling a little insecure I think. Courtney wondered if they were doing something wrong; Connie said she’d really have to look at what they were doing if no one arrived; and I was thinking they all new it was my turn to cook and had stayed away in droves!

When I got home I finished up my Community Quilt and packed up my project for tomorrow’s bee. For the rest of my day it’s knit, knit, knit!
