I was up early this morning and I had a bit of time to knit while I had my coffee. If I continue to knit in the mornings my Mahjong and Tetris skills are likely to suffer! I have a long way to go before I’m to where I need to be for my next class. Fine yarn and small needles mean I knit for quite awhile before I gain many inches.
I had just a bit of Guild business to take care of this morning and then I was going to get at those Hallowe’en projects. Who would have thought that a little bit of business would take so long! It was lunch before I stopped, but most of it is finished.
After lunch I sat down to take a closer look at the classes the Guild is offering this season. I picked out a few that I thought I would like to take, and then Pat took a look at some Google images of patterns made from the techniques they are presenting. With his encouragement I will probably sign up for every one of the classes. As Pat says, I joined the Guild to learn so I may as well take advantage of classes where they are teaching new techniques. I may learn lots, but I fear there will be a lot of WIPs (works in progress) at the end of the year.
Our monthly demo nights are changing this year. We used to have some sort of lecture and/or demonstration of a technique, but we didn’t do any actual sewing. There are a number of demos this year where we’ll need to take our machines along if we want to get the most out of the session.
It was mid-afternoon before I finally got started on my Hallowe’en projects. I had anticipated I might get more done but when I didn’t start until late I was pleased with my progress. I’m at a good stopping point so I’ll quit for now and pick up my knitting.
