What a deal

Pat and I headed out early this morning. I had news through the Guild that someone was selling their quilting supplies in a big Garage Sale near Lang Bay. We thought that since the word had gone out to the entire Guild we better be there early if I was going to find anything.

We were there when the doors opened and I’m glad we were. There wasn’t all that much quilting fabric, and I was able to scoop up most of it. I found some colours that I think will go together if I want to use a specific colour scheme for a Community Quilt, but there is also some that will work as fillers for some of my stash (growing stash I must say). While I was picking up fabric bargains, Pat was loading up on some books. I only saw one other Guild member – she was going in just as we were leaving.

We were headed back to town by nine. We planned to stop at Skeeter Jack’s for breakfast, but they were closed. We weren’t sure if they even served breakfast, but we still had to pass the Savory Bight on our way home. When we stopped in there we were thinking it would be a nice morning to sit on their deck but, apparently, they have stopped serving breakfast. We headed down to Townsite and had a big breakfast at the Magpie Diner. We saw some friends that we haven’t seen all summer so we did a little catching up. Both couples have recently sent the youngest of their children off to University.

I spent the rest of the morning (and some of the afternoon) working on my applique project. I have one more block placed and ready for stitching. I would have carried on, but I need to make more bias “whatever it is called” and I need a machine for that. So I switched over to do some accounting for Pat’s company. His year end was the end of August so I’ll have to get things to his accountant by the end of the month.

We spent a lazy evening in front of the TV. We’ve started taping shows from the Oasis channel. All of the shows are educational, but some are more boring than others!
