I had hoped to be making this post from my new computer but we aren’t there yet.

After seeing Dayle off on the plane we stopped at a few garage sales. Although we didn’t need anything, we found a few things.

When we got home we started work on setting up my new machine. We decided we should make a backup of our backup – just in case! That took about nine hours, but while that ran through I cleaned up my studio (including a vacuum) and got my machine out of the box and plugged in.

Once we started on the restore part of this exercise the machine said it would take four hours so we went out for dinner. By the time we got home the restore had completed and, no, we didn’t stay out for four hours.

I had to fiddle a bit with some of the applications, but for the most part everything is working well. We do have that one problem (big problem) with my photos but we haven’t given up yet.

At this rate we’ll have no problem staying up late enough for the meteor shower.
