BOND at the beach

Monday, July 30, 2012

I knew this was to be a beach day with the BOND group but the weather this morning was quite cool and grey. The forecast for the afternoon looked good and I was glad that there were no last minute changes to the plan or the menu. Today was an easy day because we bought a tray of sandwiches and all I had to do was shop for and prepare the fruit and vegetables.

By noon, as folks started to arrive at Willingdon Beach, the sun was shining. We had to keep moving our blankets (and babies) into the shade as the sun moved around. It was a smaller crowd today, but since the Mums brought all their toddlers it was busy keeping an eye on everyone.

I felt like taking a nap when I got home but I managed to stay awake until supper. We started watching the Olympic events and hardly moved from the TV for the rest of the evening. I seldom watch the Games because I don’t like to just see the highlights. But with the PVR we can see the events live, even if somewhat delayed. We enjoyed a bit of men’s beach volleyball, and all of the men’s synchronized diving and team gymnastics.

It’s late now (and I’ve just finished the dishes) so I’m headed to bed. I can hardly wait to tell you what Margaret has planned for us on Thursday!
