The house is tidy, the wine is breathing! Joel and Zoe (who took care of the house for us while we were away) are coming for dinner tonight. Pat has his computer set up on the island so he can show off our travel photos. Is a computer screen better than forcing people to sit through a slide show?
Pat has a wonderful Italian dinner planned, with several courses. We’ll start with salad with a pear and Gorgonzola dressing. We’ll follow that with a pasta dish (the sauce was made a day ago so it has had time to sit and absorb all the flavours). Then we’ll have chicken with a lemon sauce, and green beans as our vegetable. Finally, I made Panna Cotta for dessert and we have a bottle of limoncello as an extra treat. And the view from the deck will be just as good as the views we had in Italy.
I had time for some sewing today too. At some point when I cleaned up my studio I came across a blouse that I had cut out but never sewn (I know it moved with me from Port Coquitlam). I sorted all the pieces out into a container and then forgot about it. I wanted to use that particular container today so I decided to sew the blouse rather than move it again. It says it is two-hour project and I’m well beyond that, even having it all cut out ahead of time. I just have the sleeves and bottom hem left though so it will be done soon.
I decided to do an early post today – it may be a late night!
