Hot day

Today feels like the hottest day of summer so far. Then again, perhaps I just worked harder today than usual and I’m feeling the heat more.

I have a very small portable line for my laundry, but I like to use it in the summer rather than running the drier. I usually plan one load a day so that it has plenty of time to dry. However, with all our company and extra laundry I had three loads that had to get done today. The last load went on the line late this afternoon, but it was still warm enough that it was dry by the time dinner was over. I also had extra cleaning to do today. I enjoy seeing the house spic and span (well at least tidied a bit), but I sure hate getting it that way.

I had some time this morning to finish up a couple of cards and my coasters. I went to take a photo tonight but my camera came up “battery exhausted”.

I picked Margaret up after lunch and we headed to the hospital where she had some lab tests done. There was no one ahead of her so we were out the door within fifteen minutes. We had lots of time for coffee – and it was so cool inside McDonalds I don’t think either of us wanted to leave.

I made a couple more cards this afternoon. It seems like my smaller projects are the things I’m working on these days. I was able to try out a new binding method on one of the cards. It certainly worked better than the way I’ve been binding small pieces, but it still isn’t perfect. I think I need one more lesson.

I stuck my tonic water in the fridge this morning so I’m going to go out on the deck with a gin and tonic and enjoy the sunset (and, hopefully, a cool breeze).
