What took me so long?

My schedule for today suggested I should do some quilting and I had a project in mind. My Bargello table runner had been sandwiched and pinned on my design wall since early in the year. And what is worse, I took the class for it while we were still at the Soccer Center so I know it was before December last year. I don’t think I was avoiding it, but for whatever reasons it hadn’t had much of a priority.

I have given up on free-motion quilting for the time being, but this one was easy enough to do using an “in the ditch” method. I had all the quilting finished up by late afternoon. I need to make a trip to the fabric shop to get something for the binding. I’m hoping Lainey will have one or two (of the ten) fabrics I used in stock. She’s closed until Tuesday so it’s back on my design wall for the piece (but it’s feeling less neglected).

I sat and read on the back deck for awhile before supper. It was an odd day. At times it was hot and too warm for the front deck, but the back deck felt a little too cool.

After dinner I headed upstairs to do a little more work on my photos – finally I made it out of Rome!
