Catching up

I made six jars of rhubarb-strawberry jam this morning, but I did it after breakfast so I don’t know yet how they taste. It was an easy-to-make refrigerator jam, but even if it is marvelous tasting I don’t have room in the fridge for another batch. I’ll have to dig out some more recipes and see what I can come up with. I do know that rhubarb crisp will be on the dessert menu tonight!

As you will see if you are receiving this entry via e-mail, I finished updating all my website pages. What started out this morning as a quick job ended up taking the better part of the day.

I had a couple of projects that needed to be entered in my quilting binder, but before they were finished my printer ran out of coloured ink (I like to put a coloured photo in the binder). When I ran out of paper a bit later I considered it to be perfect timing as I needed to go to Staples for the ink anyway.

I wanted a few changes to the site (no more comments and a new menu for the Book Reviews) so asked Pat to help me with those. There were some software updates that needed to be loaded for the web program and they suggested doing a backup before updating. Pat downloaded an add-in for the site that would do the backups, but it took forever and forever. It was noon before it finished and I had pretty much given up on it. Once the update was loaded we went out for lunch.

I made that stop at Staples for paper and ink, and then we stopped at the nursery to pick up some plants for our hanging baskets. Since summer is taking its time getting here I don’t think we are too late to get some plants started.

What I really had planned for my day was to do some catching up on my Block of the Month tutorials. Since it was so late in the day I decided to do some more work on my Italy photos. I’m only up to Rome – Day 4. I’m glad I took careful notes of where these photos are taken as I’m sure without them I’d be clueless. And I am enjoying our trip for a second time as I go through and label them all.
