Another day – another SITA bus trip down the Amalfi Coast. Our destination today was Positano. While we waited at the bus stop we chatted with another couple who are staying at the hotel. They are from Ottawa and finishing the first month of a two month holiday. We stood all the way to Positano and, maybe because the view has worn off on us, it seemed like it was a longer trip today.
The view as soon as we were off the bus was staggering. It was a long walk down the hill to the harbour but there were lots of spots to stop and take photos.
We stopped in at the church for a look around. There was to be a wedding there later in the afternoon and the florist was busy making the flower decorations right on the steps of the church.
We continued down to the beach and I couldn’t resist dipping my feet in the water. It felt far too cold to be swimming, but lots of people were!
We couldn’t face another SITA bus back to Sorrento so we came back by boat. It was a longer ride than we expected because it stopped at Capri before heading into Sorrento. It was lovely and cool to be on the water and we both enjoyed the ride. Once back in Sorrento it was a long climb up the hill from the harbour to the town.
We stopped for lunch at The Foreigner’s Club – it looked nice, the view was terrific but the food was only so-so. Another hike up a few more hills (with a stop for gelato) and we arrived at the shuttle pickup location. We were back in our room shortly before four.
I had a wonderful nap while Pat did the laundry. We had dinner here at the hotel – it is the best restaurant we’ve found in Sorrento.
Time to pack our bags again. We head back to Rome tomorrow.
