Trip around the World (Block 137)

I didn’t have anything in particular in mind this morning so I started out clearing off my cutting table and sorting some scraps. When I looked at the daily block it seemed like a perfect opportunity to use up some the the scraps that I’ve been collecting.

The Guild’s block of the month for September was released yesterday and it made use of some red scraps so I dug out the right number of reds in the correct sizes and then I cut out the whites to go along with them. There were ten half-square triangles required so I got them done.

At that point I decided to focus on the half-square triangles I need for a couple of other projects. My first Alias Grace block needed 34 half-square triangles and I have them cut, sewn and trimmed.

There are 72 half-square triangles in the mystery quilt I’m leading for the Guild. This third clue isn’t going to be released until December but I’m trying to stay ahead of the participants. I don’t have them sewn, but I have them all marked.
