A Covid Quilt Top

Tuesday, June 16, 2020 (Day/Block 92)

Magic Box

I had fun with today’s block. I didn’t use the colours that were shown in the photo because it meant having to cut into some yardage and I’m really trying to make these daily blocks from my scraps. This was an easy one to put a story to. It’s spring (do you see the strawberries) and we are in a magic box keeping us safe but we are surrounded by that covid bug!

I had quite a collection of 12″ daily blocks so I put them together into my first Covid-19 top. I did a lot of rearranging, had Stacia and Deloise help me out and I’m happy with the results. Since I’m not sure if this will be a donation quilt I’m not in a rush to get it sandwiched and quilted. Over the past couple of days my count on several other sized blocks is increasing and I’ve spent some time with my design book and I have another two tops planned out. I’ll wait a bit longer before putting anything together so I have choices in the blocks that go together best.

I’ve finished sewing early today so I’m going to spend some time at my computer. I have 19 items showing in my task list – some of them are just reminders but there are others that I should take care of. And if I get bored there are the minutes from last night’s Hall meeting I could work on.

Pat has an online thing tonight so I’ll get a bit more of my book read.
