Hourglass

We caught the first ferry over to Texada this morning. There were a few things both Pat and I wanted to pick up and we also wanted to check on the studio and workshop. The spiders and other creepy crawlies have moved back into the workshop but I didn’t bother cleaning; when I start going over on a regular basis and staying I’ll take care of that job. I wanted to bring back some of my quilting thread and, since I couldn’t decide what colours I needed, I brought it all back in a bag. I wanted a bit of batting for one of my finishes but decided to bring back the whole roll. I brought back a bin of quilts that are already sandwiched – there will be no lack of things to do for a long time. Also tucked into the truck for the return trip were some quilting books that I didn’t know I needed until I saw them.

We left the driveway at 6:30 and we were back in the driveway by ten. I think we will soon be ready to go over and spend a week or two. When we were in the line-up waiting to load on the way back I spotted Barb (a quilter) going as a walk-on. She also spotted us and she and I sat upstairs and chatted; I guess I’m making the move from self-isolating back to social distancing. It was so nice to be chatting to someone; I don’t think I realized how much I missed it. It won’t happen very often and I’ll pick and choose what I’m comfortable with.

I’ve spent the day working on my May UFO Challenge project. I’m not sure how it got to be the middle of May and this is the first day I’ve worked on it. I don’t think it will take long to finish so I should still have it done by the end of the month.
