Are you wearing green today?

I spent the morning in my studio making more birthday cards. Spring is getting to be as busy as fall for birthdays in our family. I tried a different technique for making today’s cards. I used a self-binding method so they went together much faster than previous versions. I did very little quilting on them. For one of them I configured my machine for free-motion quilting and used the template I’ll be using for my Mystery Quilt. I’ve been avoiding the free-motion stitching but it went quite well today.

I would have liked to have moved on to another lesson in my Block of the Month series, or made one or two more blocks for my Farmer’s Wife Sampler Quilt, but I felt I should put a little more time into my Easter project. I’d like to get them in the mail next week and I still have a lot of work to do. I’ve finally moved on to the last of the sets and, with a hockey game tonight, I should get a lot more done before the day is over.
