I loved making this card, which is unusual considering it’s composition.
I’m not a fan of appliqué and there is a lot of it on here. For this method of appliqué you need to reverse the pattern to get everything going in the right direction. It didn’t matter for the hearts, leaves or cup, but I had to do the handle a couple of times. And I’m not a fan of my zig-zag stitch but the card had to be done so I powered through.
I loved the embroidery – and I need the practice. I didn’t do the stitch that was called for because I didn’t do it well the last time I tried it. I think my substitute stitch worked okay.
I hardly ever do any free-motion quilting on Pearl (my Tuesday machine) but, again, the card needed to be done. Actually it was easier than I anticipated so now I wonder why I was so nervous about it in the first place.
I picked this particular card because Jackie is heading out to walk the Camino Trail – and that is in no way a “little thing”.
Good luck and enjoy the experience!
