Another job

I was able to keep to my schedule and I got a lot of things accomplished and cleared off my desk this morning before heading out to my Red Cross shift. Margaret wasn’t able to come with me today. Not because the 89-year old is still recovering from surgery less than a week ago – one of the home care nurses was coming by at a time that interfered with our shift!

I had some mail to drop at the post box on the way to the hospital and a book to drop off at the library on my way home. I remembered all of that, but I forgot to take my book to read during my shift (in case no one dropped by). Fortunately there was a fresh stack of magazines on the desk so I caught up on the comings and goings of the stars. Except for one phone call and a visit with the crafters next door I didn’t have anything else to do.

I wanted to spend the rest of my afternoon recording a new story for my website. It took almost two hours before dinner just to get the microphone settings right. I think I have them okay and recorded a test chapter. I hope I’ll get a chance to get back to it before my next scheduled office day (and before I forget what I’m doing).

The woman who does the blog for the Guild announced at the meeting tonight that the blog was going to be shut down because no one had come forward to take it over from her. She’s done it for two years and wanted to pass it on. At the break I spoke with her and said I would take it over. I don’t remember a request ever going out looking for someone, but perhaps it was done earlier in the year when I was added to the Membership Committee (and told about it later).

I was looking forward to the Guild meeting more than I usually do because our cookie tins came back to us. I was so excited to see the blocks that were created for me, and the stories that the ladies wrote in my book. Now I’ll have to figure out what I’m going to do with them. Suggestions anyone?
