A morning off

Sunday, January 27, 2019

It took me longer than I thought last night to stitch down the last thee flower appliqués. I stuck with it though but was in bed later than usual. So I decided to take the morning off – well off in the sense that I didn’t do any sewing. I sorted through my recycle bins and got things ready to take to the depot tomorrow, I did a bit of cleaning, I did the vacuuming, emptied the dishwasher, put away the last load of laundry and made a fresh pot of coffee.

For the afternoon I got started on my February cards – there aren’t many for this month but I’ll be spending a lot of my time finishing quilts for the show and I thought I should get at least one finished (and I did).

Tonight I’ll make a hanging sleeve for one of my quilts. I didn’t originally plan on putting it in the show so I didn’t put a sleeve on it but when I showed it at one of our quilt meetings I was encouraged to add it. We hang most of our quilts using curtain rods so I’ll make the sleeve  removable.

I have all the photos taken for my application forms but I need to spend some time figuring out the wording I want on each label. I’ll get the photos printed tomorrow when I’m out at the recycle depots.
