I didn’t think it would take all day to finish making the fabric pieces for my jacket, but it did. I noticed that the butterflies were upside down on the back piece so I had a bit of restitching to do to get them flying the right way up. And I spent the rest of the day (and into my evening) sewing the squares together for the front and sleeves.
I’ve got my machine and everything else packed up for tomorrow’s bee. The next step is to quilt all these fabric pieces. I don’t usually quilt in public but this will be straight line stitching so I should be okay. I don’t expect I’ll get any further than the quilting tomorrow (and I’m not even sure I’ll get the quilting done) and then I can let it sit for a week before the next lesson. There is no way I’m going to start cutting out the pattern and sewing it without some sort of supervision.
I took a bit of time this afternoon to see Margaret at the hospital. Her surgery went well and I was glad that she didn’t seem to have any issues as a result of the anesthesia. She thought she might get home tomorrow, but she’s not been out of bed yet so I think she’ll be there for an extra day.
Pat went out shopping this afternoon and picked up a few things for dinner. When I went looking to see when we might be eating he suggested that Pasta Night at the church might be a better option. He’s gone off to the movie tonight – it wasn’t one I was interested in so I stayed home.
I’m off now to do a few more Italian lessons.
