I think I mentioned in an earlier post that I had moved my quilting operation to the dining room table. After the bee yesterday I set up my machine on the table again and finished the thread catcher. I also unloaded all of my accessories (cutters, thread, pattern, etc.) in the vicinity – either on the table, the island, or one of the counters.
This morning I got to work cutting out the 150 five-inch squares that are required for my class this weekend. I cleared off the island (onto the treadmill) so I could use it as my cutting table. I added a few more accessories (cutting board, fabric bin, ironing board, iron, etc.) and cut until noon. By then I had my five-inch square pile, as well as small stacks of other sizes that were cut from the pieces leftover from the initial cut.
I invited Margaret out for coffee this afternoon. I hadn’t seen her all week, and I wasn’t sure she getting out on her own via HandiDart. I was glad to hear today that she is still making trips to the mall. The sun was shining and it was a great day to be out. She goes into hospital for her surgery on Monday so I’m glad we took advantage of the day.
When I got home I cleared the piles off the table (and moved them to whatever clear space I could find on the counters and the chair tops) and started back into my quilting. I finished another section before stopping for dinner, and I think I still have enough concentration left to go back for another session this evening.
Pat isn’t home until Friday so there’s no rush to clean up!
