Not a great day

Sunday, April 30, 2017

It was sunny this morning; the rain had disappeared overnight. I had some linens to launder from the Cran Hall concert on Friday so I thought it would be a good day to hang them outside to dry. I haven’t done that yet this year but the day looked promising. When the load finished I got everything into my basket and reached for the clothes pins. I didn’t find them where I expected them to be but I thought I had probably put them in the back closet to clear out space on the hangers for a House Concert. When I looked in the closet I saw the bag I used to keep them in; I remember taking it over to hold my winter socks. Then I remembered the tin I had them in; it was now filled with hardware for hanging curtain rods (for my quilts). I searched high and low but couldn’t find them anywhere. I was pretty sure that once I found them I’d remember having put them wherever they showed up. I gave up the hunt though and put the load through the drier. I asked Pat later if he had borrowed them for something and he remembered that they were a bit mildewed last fall and he thought we had pitched them when I was unable to get them clean. And, of course, I now clearly remember doing that. I’ll have to get some new ones next time I’m out.

I was anxious to get back to some sewing today. The project I’m working on required a zipper; no problem as I put a zipper in my bag at the retreat and didn’t have any problems. Nothing was working for me today though and after three attempts I have given up! I’ll take the project with me to the bee on Tuesday and see if someone can help.

We’ll be waiting tonight to hear from the accountant regarding our income taxes. I’m pretty sure I will have to pay – but the amount is always a mystery.
