I had a frustrating day of sewing yesterday. The morning went well; this is my second attempt at the Anna pattern. After a lunch break I carried on thinking I’d be well on my way to a finish by the end of the day. That was not to be though as I realized early on that I had made a mistake. It took me almost an hour to figure out what I had done wrong and how I was going to fix it. By that time I’d had enough and quit.
I was looking forward to Friday Night Baseball and even more excited that the Blue Jays were going to be playing. No such luck though as Apple TV didn’t have a game and the Jays were on Sportsnet, not TSN. We’re a bit concerned that we aren’t going to be able to see the World Series without subscribing to something else.
We had another concert at the Hall last night. The Hall was packed and the opening act (Maddie Storvold) was great. I was not alone in thinking she should have been the headliner. We had history with the main act (Sarah Jane Scouten) when she and her sister were our house concert entertainers. When Pat spoke to her she barely acknowledged that she had ever been here before; she didn’t impress me that first time and my impression didn’t improve with this encounter.
Today I’m at loose ends. We’re putting together the final plans for our visitors – thinking of food mostly. We went out this morning to get curtains for the upstairs bedroom (Kathryn said we needed them). When we got them home and I put them up we realized there was only one panel in the package so we had to go back for another panel.
I’ve redone two of the pieces that were wrong from yesterday’s sewing but I don’t feel like carrying on so I’ll spend the rest of the afternoon reading, and maybe finishing, my book. I have another one loaded on my iPad as well as one ready to pick up at the library.
