I’m not sure what got into me over the last couple of days but whatever it is I like it.
I was sorting through a bin yesterday looking for orphan blocks I could use for my Circle of Nine class, as well as samples I could use for the Guild’s reveal party. I found so much stuff in there that I can use elsewhere that the bin is now empty. The stuff, however, is scattered over the surfaces (including floors) of my two rooms.
One of the things I found in the bin was a number of One Block Wonder half blocks that I used in a wall hanging. Not all the blocks that I made fit in the project and I probably should have pitched them immediately. But yesterday it seemed like such a waste to throw them out so I made a small table topper for the deck on Texada. First thing this morning I quilted it and I have it ready to hand stitch the binding. It has turned out that the fabric I picked for the back will now be the front and the pieced part will be the back. Either way it is nice to have something to show for myself in such a short time.
I’ve moved on now to my summer mystery. I’ve been quite a bit behind in it but I’m almost finished Part 3 of 6. I decided to make this more of a priority as I’m sure that there will be a lot of them on display at the next Guild meeting. Since I wasn’t at the final party in June I never got to show the Guild mystery from last year that was designed by the same woman.
So, before I lose my mojo, I’m heading back to my sewing machine.
