I spent most of the morning wishing I lived in a larger city, if only for the space of a few hours. I was trying to order a birthday gift and a Christmas gift but there were problems. Christy offered to do my shopping for me but I really wanted to get it done on my own – she has enough shopping to do that I didn’t want to add my list to hers.
The birthday gift was to be a gift card from Dylan’s favourite store which, of course, we don’t have anywhere near us. I called the store this morning hoping I could purchase the card and have them send it to me but they told me they couldn’t do that and that I needed to order it online from their website. I did that but when I got my PayPal receipt it said I had paid in US dollars. I tried for half an hour to call the store back to be sure the electronic gift card would work in the Canadian store but no one was picking up.
I managed to do a Live Chat with someone from the website (who knows where they were from) and eventually got an answer. The e-gift card “should” work in the Canadian stores or online in Canada. I’m worried about the “should” but I’ll deal with it later if it doesn’t work.
Next I was on to a Christmas gift – again I was looking for a gift card. I was able to find the right site and order what I wanted but when I got to the payment section all I got was a blank page. Christy kept me calm through Messages and she suggested I look at Shoppers for the cards I wanted.
What a great idea – and why didn’t I think of that. I’ll head out tomorrow and pick up what I need; in fact I may just pick up everything I need for everyone on my list in that one stop.
