I spent most of the morning out in the yard after doing a bit of Pat’s accounting. I hadn’t intended to tackle the grape but it was overtaking a couple of bushes so I decided to get it cleaned up before I started actually weeding the beds. Long story short, I never actually got to the individual beds. I was tired when I finished picking up the bindweed, dead heads and grape leaves but I stuck to my plan to mow the lawn. The grass itself wasn’t very tall but the weeds were sticking up all over. Pat came out and relieved me when I was about half done; it is surprising how easy it looks when you are watching someone else do the mowing.
After a couple of loads of laundry and running the dishwasher I came upstairs and got back to my quilting. The project I’m working on is a medallion – a centre surrounded by a few border rows (mine has four beyond the centre). I did the stabilizing around the centre and have a good start on the quilting. It’s going to take some time to get it done because it seems every time I finish a section I have to change thread – so far I’ve used four different colours. I’m liking the design I picked. It isn’t an original but I went through some photos of quilts that I had saved (not my own) and found some patterns that would work.
Pat has an online event this evening so I’ll work on this week’s clue for my Peppermint Purple cross stitch project.
