I started my day out on the deck watching the action around the hummingbird feeder. It was quite a steady stream of visitors all the time I was out there. When I took a morning coffee break, again out on the deck, the fight was on for space at the feeder. Two birds at a time is usually fine but often when you add a third one in the fights begin in earnest. There is one (or maybe more) aggressive one and s/he doesn’t like anyone else to be in the area. Occasionally a fourth one will sneak in from the back but the peace doesn’t last long. At times there were six or seven waiting, not very patiently, for a turn.

And a note to myself – don’t wear a pink shirt outside in hummingbird season. I got very close and personal with a few birds when I was outside.

As well as watching the birds I’ve done more sewing. I’ll switch now to a cross stitch project; I’m a couple of weeks behind on the stitch along.
