Not a lot of fun today

Monday, January 13, 2020

It has been more of a work day than a fun day for me.

I started off the day with some cleaning. The new outlet for my vacuum allows me to reach corners that I couldn’t before so I got a little carried away. I scrubbed out the bathrooms and cleaned up the kitchen floor, as well as taking care of a load of laundry. I may do another load tonight.

It has been snowing off and on all day today. It is a dry snow and until mid-afternoon it wasn’t sticking to the sidewalks or the road but there is an accumulation building now. The roads still look clear but they are predicting snow all night so the morning may be tricky. I thought briefly about going out for the Hall mail but decided not to bother – if I’m snowed in tomorrow too bad. I did have some Hall work to do this morning and by the time it was done it was afternoon.

After a late lunch I got some projects ready for the bee tomorrow – just in case I go. I’m working on a quilt as you go, without sashing, so I needed to review my video tutorial one more time. I still have a lot of the blocks left to quilt but, hopefully, by the end of the day tomorrow I should have enough blocks finished to attempt putting a row together. I hadn’t counted on the fact that the blocks all require hand stitching on the back; I think that will be a lot more work than sewing down a binding which will still have to be done.

After that was packed I cut out a new project for our “At Home Retreat” this weekend. The Thursday group will be sewing together over the weekend. I’m responsible for one day of meals so I hope I can get to the store tomorrow to pick up ingredients.

And to add to the “not so much fun” I realized that I am going to have to do some reverse stitching on the Princess. Not a lot, but enough that it will delay the finish for at least a week. Sorry Kathryn!
