I spent the weekend on Texada and managed a bit of sewing. I made this Scottie Dog block for my friend at the Guild who gave me the tin cup last week. I don’t generally piece over there but I wanted it done for today so there was no choice. The plaid fabric is from Mum’s bin. I also worked on quilting a quilt but I ran out of time to get it finished. It is my Show and Tell for the November Guild meeting so I still have enough time to get it done.
With cooler fall weather I’m finding the workshop quite cold. We still haven’t had the stove looked at but this week we are going to buy a small heater for the space. Even once the wood stove is working it will take awhile for it to warm things up; we might get something that cools as well as heats so the studio won’t be quite so hot in summer.
I came home on the noon ferry on Monday as I had some Hall work to do. Once I was home I had requests for show tickets and then I had to have some an extra cheque signed for the Hall. There were Rental Agreements to pick up, deposits to prepare, and a couple of Hall showings to work out the timing for. Fortunately I was able to find someone to do a Hall opening on the weekend but I’m heading out soon for a showing and then again tomorrow morning for an opening. It never stops but I guess I must like it or I’d quit.
It was fun to be back sewing today. Although the new UFO Challenge was probably posted yesterday I worked on my September Challenge today. I’m happy with my progress on this for the month; I finished the cutting and sewing for five clues and I managed to get the first block put together today.
