How many generations of women can you fit into one book? This one follows periods of time in the lives of four generations of women either living in or from Sweet Hollow, Louisiana.

Jumping around between time periods and each of the women’s stories made me wish for a more linear narrative but I felt I got a sense of each of the main characters. New characters popped up throughout the book and it often took awhile before you found out where they fit into the overall story.
