Pierrot and Rose are orphans who were housed at the same orphanage in Montreal. They each have a special talent for entertaining and as they grow up they fall in love.

When they leave the system they lose touch with one another but never forget their love. After several years they reconnect and go on to big things in the entertainment (and drug) industry.

Although the author is Canadian and has won a number of awards I can’t say that I enjoyed this book.
