Did you know that today was International Support Your Local Quilt Shop Day? I didn’t either until I saw it on Facebook this morning. Apparently no one else did because when I stopped in at the shop Deb said I was her only customer so far (and it was after noon when I walked up).
I had been looking at fabric to use with my Guild challenge bag but wasn’t terribly happy with what I had at home. I bought some gold and some green that will be part of the tote bag and one of the fabrics I had a home will serve as the lining.
I also bought a jelly roll rug pattern. I’m taking a class next month and, although I don’t know if we need the pattern for the class, I thought I’d get one while I was there. I’ll be using Guild supplies for the class; the rug I make will go in the Boutique at the quilt show to raise money for the Guild. I think I’ll want to make one of my own at a later date so the pattern will help me remember what to do.
There were two fabrics in the 50% off bin that I liked – a pink print and a blue print – and I purchased a third colour that will go with both of them. Somewhere down the road I’ll dig out my 3-Yard Quilt patterns and see what I can come up with.
