It was time

I had a plan for today but, as often happens, things don’t go as planned. It was to be a sewing afternoon but I thought I would start on some quilting this morning. There were a few things from last night’s meeting that had to be done first thing and by the time that was done I felt I couldn’t carry on with anything else until I cleaned up my sewing room. I had bags that we brought back from Texada, my Guild meeting bag from last month was still sitting waiting for some cleaning out, and don’t even get me started on my Tuesday bin or my Cranberry Hall bag. I scheduled my clean-up to carry on until it was time to leave for sewing.

But mid-morning (it felt much later because I was up at six) Gail called me to say her power was off. I can’t say I was too disappointed even though I already had my bag packed with a couple of projects. When I went downstairs for lunch I started taking down and packing away the Christmas decorations. We are having a stormy day so I haven’t moved them out to the shed; I’ll do that when the weather calms down a bit. I’m going to miss the tree and Mr. Snowman because I’ve had them on every morning and evening since the beginning of December.

As I was finishing up my packing Gail called to say her power was back on but I decided not to go out. I was able to use the time to organize a few projects and bins in my sewing room; I even vacuumed and now I’m ready to get started on some sewing.

I doubt I’ll get very far with that today though as I have two Guild meetings tonight – a quilt show meeting and our regular business meeting. And before I head out to them I need to stop at Staples to pick up a printing order – all of those donation letters will be ready for our President to sign.

But starting tomorrow I’m going to be quilting non-stop (after I check on a Hall issue at City Hall, get some cheques signed and delivered, and sort out an insurance decision).
