We came back from Texada yesterday so I could get an early start on my reports for my two meetings this week. I’m so glad we did that as I’ve been at it all day and I’m still not finished. On top of those reports, I was frantic to get started on a birthday quilt that I need for this month.
It took all morning, but I managed to get the backing of the quilt pieced, the quilt sandwiched and I’ll be ready to start quilting tomorrow morning (provided all my Guild work gets done). I picked up some extra bobbins so I can wind several at a time and hopefully see my way through most of the quilting without having to stop too many times.
Most of the afternoon has been spent on Guild business. This is a quilt show year for the Guild and it was decided that we’d start advertising right after the new year. That meant I had (and still have) quite a few things to add to the blog, our Facebook page and several other points that we use for advertising. I also wrote 20 letters asking various businesses in town to donate something to our door prize table. It will be good to be able to report on some “finishes” at the meeting tomorrow.
I needed to meet someone this afternoon to pick up a key from the Hall; I waited at the appointed place for ten minutes and then phoned her home where I was told her shift had changed and she wouldn’t be done until 2:30. So I wandered around the grocery story until about 2:35 and then had her paged. She had completely forgotten she was to meet me (although she confirmed the meeting last night) but, fortunately, she had the key so I was able to close off that task. I stopped at the bank to make the first deposit of the year and then hurried home to work on more Guild business.
I have time to make myself some supper before heading out for the Board meeting at the Hall.
