This Australian film is based on a true story. When Rex is given only three months to live he decides to drive from Broken Hill, New South Wales to Darwin, Northern Territory 3,000 km away. Rex is determined to be the first patient under a newly-created law that allows for physician-assisted suicide. A cab driver by trade, Rex sets out on his journey, much to the chagrin of his friends. The Australian Outback, although very stark in many parts of the film, is beautiful.
