It’s not even ten yet and I’m ready to write my journal entry and get on my way.

Since my last post we’ve had an upsetting time. Our friend Gene passed away, peacefully, on Sunday morning. Jenny is still staying with us and will be here for a day or two more. She is waiting to pick up Gene’s ashes and she will head back to Victoria for a memorial evening on Saturday. This has been such a difficult time for her; I can’t imagine being so far from home and dealing with these issues. We try to support her in whatever way we can; once we leave she has another friend in town that she can rely on should anything come up.

I packed my bags yesterday and this morning I’m doing a final clean up in my studio/office. I don’t know what I’ll do with the rest of my day until our flight at 5:30 this afternoon. I had some stitching I was doing to calm my nerves yesterday but I finished it up last night. I’ve finished reading my books, and will rely on my iPad for reading material while we are away.

I have several June cards that would normally have been mailed while we are gone so I decided rather than have them arrive terribly late, I’ll mail them today and they will arrive terribly early.
