Spring Cleaning

Wednesday, March 30, 2016

It’s needed it for awhile so I decided to tackle it today – I took everything out of the fridge and washed all the shelves and drawers. None of the shelves fit very neatly into the sink so by the time I was done there was water spilled all over the counter and splashed onto the floor. I still need to wash down the shelves in the door but I’ll do that tomorrow and then I’ll wash the kitchen floor. This cleaning spree today makes me think I should also wash the cupboards, both inside and out.

With two concerts and the associated house guests next week, this may be the start of my Spring cleaning.

Once the fridge was done I got a parcel ready for the mail and wrote up the Guild’s blog report. When I returned from the post office I started peeling apples for an apple crisp; there were a few in the fridge that were past their prime and I wanted to use them up. Pat came up on a break from his teaching while I was doing that and asked if I had given up on sewing for the day. My reply was that I still hoped to get some sewing done.

While I was finishing the crisp and cleaning up I couldn’t get Pat’s comment to go away. Although I have lots of sewing to do, why not take a day off? So I’m spending the afternoon reading a book and enjoying the glorious sunshine streaming in the windows. I may need to add washing windows to my Spring cleaning list!

We’re off to the movies tonight.
